From essentials for your personal comfort to gear for outdoor activities, this guide will help you make the most of your time in the peaceful surroundings of Estes Park. Whether you’re planning to relax indoors or explore the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know before you arrive.

  • House slippers to wear while in the house (wood floors can be slippery)

  • Layers of clothing and jackets as Estes Park temperatures fluctuate greatly from morning to evening.

  • Walking shoes & day pack if you desire to hike.

  • Toiletries and any medications necessary.

  • Electrolyte tablets or drinks are recommended.

  • Groceries, (Safeway & Country Market are available in Estes Park)

  • Ministry prayer card or Business Card


If you would like to visit Rocky Mountain National Park, jeep tours are recommended (booked through private companies) or timed entry permits are available at www.recreation.gov

The Mercy Mountain Refuge is located about 15 minutes from the National Park as well as Downtown Estes Park. Downtown Estes hosts a myriad of shopping, entertainment, farmers markets and more.

Estes Park is located at an elevation of 7,522 feet. You will need to drink plenty of water, even when you are not thirsty in order to avoid altitude sickness from dehydration. If you have a heart or lung condition or take diuretics or any other conditions affected by high altitude you will want to check with your doctor before coming.
